Nikon Coolpix 3200 Digital Camera
For the beginner or novice photographer the Nikon
Coolpix 3200 Digital Camera is a point-and-shoot dream that is easy to
use. With a multitude of automatic settings taking digital images is
just a matter of selecting your subject, pointing the camera, clicking
the shutter, and viewing your work. It really is that easy and for the
casual photographer that is all that matters.
The Coolpix 3200 captures images up to 2048 by 1536 pixels through a 3.2
megapixel CCD sensor. This can give you good looking prints up to 11 by
14 inches. Far away shots are a snap with the 3x optical zoom Nikkor
lens while close in shots 1.6 inches from the lens are richly detailed
using the cameras macro mode.
To help you optimize your shots there are 15 scene modes which are
designed to automate the camera settings to match your photo shooting
environments. The scene modes include: Portrait, Landscape, Sports,
Night Portrait, Party, Beach/Snow, Sunset, Fireworks Show, Night
Landscape, Close Up, Museum, Dusk/Dawn, Copy, Back light, and Panorama
Assist. There is also the four part Scene Assist mode that will help you
take even better pictures in Portrait, Landscape, Sports and Night
Portrait modes.
The 3200 also features a Quicktime video mode that lets you capture
movies at 15 frames for second with sound. Not exactly camcorder quality
but it adds to the overall enjoyment you can have with this camera.
Once you’ve taken your pictures you need to transfer them from the
cameras storage options. There is 14.5 MB of internal memory and the
option to use Secure Digital (SD) cards for additional storage. The
included USB cable lets you connect to and download your images to any
MAC or PC computer for storage and printing.
The camera itself can be powered by two AA-sized alkaline batteries but
it is recommended that you get rechargeable Ni-MH batteries because
digital cameras are known to eat regular batteries rather quickly.
Every 3200 digital camera comes with Nikon’s View 6 software that lets
you edit and print your photos. It also includes features that let you
remove common problems found in many photographs including “red eye’.
The uncomplicated user interface and ease of use makes the Nikon 3200
Digital Camera perfect for the beginning digital photographer. It’s
point-and-shoot capabilities also make it the perfect take anywhere
camera for those who are more advanced in the picture taking arena. |
